One Material, Two Great Options

PLA 609 is a thermoset PLA, which means it can be used in two different ways. First, as regular PLA, which allows you to get prints of excellent quality, while retaining all the characteristics of standard PLA. Secondly, through heat treatment, it is possible to obtain a print with a satin surface, significant stiffness and hardness, still retaining all the advantages of traditional PLA.

To achieve the best results, the PLA 609 annealing process should be carried out according to the following steps:

1. Preparing the Print: Place the finished print in an unheated oven. Make sure the print is on a surface that is a poor conductor of heat.
2. Prepare the print.
3. Set the Temperature: Turn on the oven with the thermo function and set the temperature to 80°C.

4. Warming: Warm up the print from 10 to 25 minutes. For best results, keep the oven temperature stable after reaching 80°C. Warming time depends on the thickness of the print wall.
5. Pulling Out and Putting Away: Once the annealing process is complete, carefully pull the print out of the oven, avoiding direct touch. Once cooled, you will get a print with ABS-like properties.
